Mr. Chrimes will act in South Africa as an 'ambassador' for the Welsh Tourist and Holiday Board of which he is a founder-member, and in particular for Llandrindod Wells, where he is vice-chairman of the urban council and chairman of the development association. He has received a letter from Mr. D.R. Grenfell, M.P., chairman of the board, expressing the hope that Mr. Chrimes will be able to arrange widespread distribution in South Africa of the new Welsh holiday guide." From The Liverpool Echo of 28 May 1955: "The International Committee of the Llandrindod Wells Rotary Club arranged a joint discussion yesterday...The function was attended by .... who were welcomed by Mr. W. L. Chrimes (chairman of Llandrindod Wells Urban Council)."
