Alan Bostock served in The Royal Air Force during WWII from October 1940 until October 1946. Details of his service can be found at his son A P's website which covers Alan Bostock's life and that of his family in great detail.
From The Winsford Chronicle of 28 September 1946: "MR. A.B. CHRIMES AND MISS D.J. DAVIES The wedding took place at Northwich Parish Church on Wednesday, the Rev. A.W. Maitland Wood officiating, of Mr. Alan Bostock Chrimes, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Chrimes, Cow-lane, Norley, and Miss Dorrie Joan Davies, only daughter of the late Mr. Davies and of Mrs. Davies, 4, Highfield Terrace, Northwich. Mr. W.H. Horrocks was at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her brother (Mr. Kenneth Davies) wore ... Matron of honour was Mrs. J. Nicholson (friend of the bride). ... Two small attendants, the Misses Sandra Jean Davies and Elizabeth Anne Moss (niece and cousin of the bride respectively) were in ... Mr. Norman Chrimes was best man. There were 50 guests at the reception at Witton Institute. The honeymoon is being spent in Southern Ireland, ..."
Alan Bostock's notice of death in the Northwich Guardian reads: "Alan Bostock Chrimes Peacefully in hospital on 18th January 2013. Alan, aged 91 years of Bartington and formerly of Sandiway. Dear Father of S▮▮, A▮▮▮▮▮ and the late Ian, Father in-law of T▮▮▮▮ and B▮▮▮▮▮▮, much loved Grandad of Tracy, Paul, Nicola, and Mark who will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Service will take place at St John the Evangelist Church, Sandiway, on Monday 28th January at 11am followed by interment at Gorstage Cemetery.
