Mary Jane T was named CRIMES at birth but was named Mary Jane TOMILSON (should be TOMLINSON) at the 1911 England Census. Although registered as the daughter of William CRIMES, Mary Jane T may be the daughter of Herbert TOMLINSON. In the 1921 England Census 'Mary Jane Tomlinson' was servant to a MOORE household in Northwich. The 1939 Register gives date of birth as 24 November 1900 but this may be the common 1939 Register error. The 1939 Register is annotated with the name 'SPRUCE', leading to the 1947 marriage record. In 1939 Mary Jane was living with her widowed father(?) Herbert TOMLINSON. The 1980 death record, in the name 'Mary Jane T Spruce' born 24 November 1899 is compelling. |
