In the 1921 England Census, Rose Amelia was not living with her mother and siblings. She cannot be found on the 1921 England Census.
From P Hitchcock: "Rose lived with William Pegg but not married. They had one child William Joseph Pegg b.1934 ... Rose, now without a 'husband' married this James Teece ....Rose died Q2 1972 Shrewsbury 9a 522"
The following is consistent with the above: From The London Gazette of 20 December 1949: "I, Rose Amelia Pegg, of 4 Thornhill Crescent, Barnsbury, Islington in the county of London, Spinster a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies by birth, heretofore called and known by the name of Rose Amelia Crimes hereby give notice that I have renounced and abandoned the surname of Crimes and that I have assumed and intend henceforth on all occasions whatsoever and at all times to sign and use and to be called and known by the surname of Pegg..." |
