In 1921 Ernest Walter was attending school 'Whole Time'. From The Chester Chronicle of 15 July 1939: "MARRIED AT ELLESMERE PORT The wedding of Miss Elsie May Davies, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Davies, 16, Fairfield-avenue, Whitby, and Mr. Ernest Crimes, 73, Phillip-street, Hoole, took place at Ellesmere Port Parish Church on Saturday.... Mr. Reginald Crimes was best man, and Messrs. C. and K. Crimes were groomsmen. After a reception at the bride's home the couple left for their new home at Frodsham Bridge, near Halton." From The Liverpool Echo of 27 February 1942: "PRISON FOR PORTER Ernest Walter Crimes, aged 26, of The Quay, Frodsham Bridge, was sentenced at Runcorn to-day, to six months' hard labour on three charges of stealing articles from Halton Station, where he was a porter. Six other offences to which he admitted were taken into consideration." |
