From The Alderley and Wilmslow Advertiser of 16 June 1939: "AN OLLERTON BRIDE Miss Mary Alice Crimes, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Crimes, of Sycamore Farm, Ollerton, was married on Thursday of last week to Mr. Robert Basford Kennerley, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.B. Kennerley, of Shellmore Farm, Lower Withington. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. Broadley at the Knutsford Methodist Church. The bride's gown was ... The bridesmaids were two sisters of the bride, Misses Rhoda and Jessie Crimes, and two sisters of the bridegroom, Misses Hilda and Dora Kennerley.... Mr. Stanley Bloor was best man, and Messrs. John Crimes, brother of the bride, A.C. Crimes jun. and Fred Kennerley were groomsmen. The organist of Withington Methodist Church, Mr. H. Skelhorn, presided at the organ.
