Neville Walter David graduated from University of Surrey, England in 1958. Neville Walter David emigrated to Australia, arriving at Sydney with his wife and two sons on 31 October 1961, having travelled First Class on 'Oriana'. From Government Gazette of the State of New South Wales (Sydney, NSW) of 12 May 1967: "SPECIAL PURCHASES - Land District - Metropolitan; Shire - Sutherland; Parish - Heathcote, County - Cumberland, Special Purchase 1963-39, under section 66 (1) (a), portion 949, of 3 perches; proposed grantees, Neville Walter David Chrimes and Celia Patricia Chrimes, of 13 Edgecliff Place, Engadine; costs incurred, $43.40; price of land, $50; ..." Another travel record shows Neville Walter David, his wife Celia Patricia and their three children arriving back in Australia from Christchurch, New Zealand in 1968 after 20 days away. They arrived on airline flight TE877. Was this a holiday? From The Sydney Morning Herald of 23 June 1999: "DEATHS - CHRIMES, Neville Walter David - June 18, 1999 at hospital, late of Engadine, beloved husband of Celia, loving father and father-in-law of G▮▮▮▮▮ and P▮▮▮▮▮▮▮ [sic] Miles (deceased), G▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮ and S▮▮▮▮, devoted Grandad of N▮▮▮▮▮▮, N▮▮▮▮▮, S▮▮▮▮▮▮, A▮▮▮▮▮▮ and A▮▮▮▮▮▮▮. No man really dies who leaves behind something good that others may share. Neville came into our lives then quietly went. He left a footprint on our hearts and we will never be the same. Neville's family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service, which will be held in Olsen's Chapel, cnr. Old Princes Highway and Toronto Parade, Sutherland, Friday (June 25, 1999) at 11:45 a.m. Following the service the funeral cortege will proceed to the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 11 Camden Valley Way, Leppington." |
