In the 1921 England Census return, Lily's occupation was firstly written as 'Sub Postmistress' but was later crossed through, possibly by the enumerator, and 'Home Duties' was written. In the 1921 England Census, living with Arthur Ernest and Lily was Elizabeth Harrop, declared by Arthur Ernest to be 'Mother' but later corrected (by the enumerator?) to be 'Mother-in-law'. Lily's Grant of Probate reads: "CRIMES Lily of The Cottage School Lanes Ollerton near Knutsford 4 October 1965 at Knutsford Cottage Hospital Cheshire. Probate London 23 November to William Arthur Crimes chartered municipal engineer. £3371." |
