From The Chester Courant of 20 February 1861: "On the 14th inst. at Morley, near Wilmslow, Cheshire, Charles Richard Jesper, cotton manufacturer, of Preston, to Hannah Wright, only surviving daughter of Joseph Chrimes, of Fulshaw, near Alderley." This newspaper notice appears under the heading "DEATHS". Oops! The 1861 marriage took place at the Friends' Meeting House, Morley near Wilmslow (Quaker), and was also announced in The Nonconformist newspaper. Hannah Wright outlived her husband by 30 years. |
