The baptism record is chosen because Weaverham was the nearest church to Crowton in 1819 and the parents names John and Sarah agree with the 1841 census. In 1841, Robert was living with his father John and mother Sarah in Norley, but not his wife Mary. In 1851 and 1861, Robert was living in Cow Lane, Norley, Grocer, with his wife Mary. Their daughter Mary was born in October 1847. From this I presume that Robert and Mary married between 1841 and 1847. I cannot find a convincing marriage record. Robert gave his birthplace as Norley or Crowton. In 1881 Robert was still living in Cow Lane, aged 59, Retired Grocer, Widower, so his wife Mary died between 1871 and 1881. Robert's Proving of Will reads: "YEARSLEY Robert 7 November The Will with a Codicil of Robert Yearsley late of Norley in the County of Chester Yeoman who died 27 October 1889 at Norley was Proved at Chester by Samuel Chrimes the Younger of Norley Shopkeeper and Robert Arthur Chrimes of Norley Shopkeeper and Walter Chrimes of Norley Wheelwright the Grandsons the Executors Personal Estate: £2,679 14s 6d" Robert's daughter Mary had died in 1872 so Robert bequeathed his estate to his grandsons. |
