Gladys was admitted to Ashton Hayes County Primary School on 11 September 1899. Previous school: "St. Paul's, Crewe". She left the Ashton Hayes school on 3 November 1899 "Left Village". Gladys was re-admitted to Ashton Hayes County Primary School on 6 January 1903. She left that school on 30 July 1908 "Age Exemption". Gladys Maggie is connected to her father by school attendance records. By 1901 both of Gladys Maggie's parents were dead which partly explains why I cannot find her on the 1901 UK Census. The 1980 Deaths Index record for Gladys Margaret Stubbs is compelling as the location is consistent with the 1913 marriage and the birth day is correct, despite the birth year being in error by one year. |
