Martha Ada was admitted to Boughton St Paul's Church Of England Junior And Infant School, Chester on 9 January 1899. On that record Martha Ada was named Ada and her father's name was given as W H which probably refers to William Henry CRIMES b.1861. Martha Ada appears on the 1901 UK Census as Ada, the "niece" of Arthur CRIMES (m.Alice BRINDLEY). This is consistent with Martha Ada being the child of William Henry CRIMES b.1861 but why was she not living with him? Her date of birth conflicts with the birth dates of William Henry's other children. The Births Index (GRO) record has mother's maiden surname blank. Martha Ada could perhaps be the child of Sarah Ann CRIMES b.1873 Tarvin, though I have no evidence to support this. Martha Ada is shown here attached to the family of William Henry CRIMES to signify a connection of some sort to the Tarvin branch. In the 1911 England Census, Martha Ada was 'Servant' to a WRIGHT household. I cannot find Martha Ada on the 1921 England Census CheshireBMD gives the location of the 1932 marriage as "Chester, Civil Marriage or Registrar Attended". The death record is chosen based on age and location only. |
