John and Arthur were twins. I cannot find Arthur on the 1891 UK Census. Arthur attended Arley Green Boys' School. It is possible that a record of admission to hospital during service in World War I (FindMyPast) relates to this Arthur, though the record refers simply to "A Chrimes" whose service number was 25356 and who served in the Army Veterinary Corps. Another record, of medals/awards (FindMyPast) gives full name as Arthur Chrimes with the same Service Number, but does not necessarily apply to this Arthur. Note that there were at least three Arthur Chrimes who served in WWI. In the 1921 England Census, siblings Arthur, James and Fanny, all single, were the only residents of Park Moss Farm. Arthur's Administration record reads: "CHRIMES Arthur of Park Moss Farm Crowley Cheshire died 20 January 1923 Administration London 22 March to Lizzie Wright (wife of Thomas Arthur Wright). Effects £1688 19s. 6d." Arthur probably did not marry. From his gravestone: "Also ARTHUR twin son of JOHN and FRANCES A CHRIMES who died January 20th 1923 aged 36 years". |
