The birth record is for John CRIMES but is almost certainly this John. Crawley refered to in the census should read Crowley. Crowley is/was a settlement within the parish of Great Budworth. I cannot find John on the 1891 UK Census. John's Grant of Probate record reads: "CHRIMES John of Park Moss Farm Crowley, Cheshire farmer died 26 June 1919 Probate Chester 20 August to Arthur Chrimes and Thomas Arthur Wright farmers. Effects £2393 8s. 2d." From John's gravestone: "In loving memory of JOHN CHRIMES of Crowley who died June 23rd 1919 aged 65 years." |
