In the 1871 census John (declared as named CRIMES) was grandfather of the head of the household. John died later in 1871. John's Proving of Will record reads: "CHRIMES John 26 September The Will of John Chrimes of Talk-o'-th'-Hill in the County of Stafford Farmer who died 18 July 1871 at Talk-o'-th'-Hill was proved at the Principal Registry by George Shenton of Alsager in the County of Chester Schoolmaster and David Colclough of Longton in the County of Stafford Potter the Executors. Effects under £100" John appears in the Index to Death Duty Registers. John "migrated" from Cheshire to Audley, Staffordshire. His daughter Sarah was baptised in Staffordshire so John "migrated" before her 1830 birth. |
