It is interesting that Thomas was born at Norton (near Runcorn), Cheshire. Perhaps a link can be found to the CHRIMESs who lived there. This link was indeed subsequently provided by information from Philip CRIMES. On the 1871 UK Census was, in addition to the CRIMESs, Joseph ASHBROOK, described as "Son-in-law". This informs us that Thomas's daughter Ellen married Joseph ASHBROOK. From The Liverpool Mail of 22 March 1873: "DEATHS CRIMES - March 18, in Waterloo-place, Birkenhead, aged 63, Mr. Thomas Crimes, licensed victualler." |
