From The Macclesfield Times of 22 May 1925: "THE LATE MRS. M CRIMES. The funeral of Mrs. M. Crimes, 14 High Street, Macclesfield, whose death occurred last week, took place at the Borough Cemetery on Monday. Deceased was 74 years of age, and the wife of Mr. Samuel Crimes. She was connected with Macclesfield Parish Church, and was well-known and highly respected. The Rev. H.E. Stevens (Vicar of Macclesfield) officiated. The coffin consisted of polished English oak, and bore the inscription: 'Martha Crimes, died May 14th, 1925; age 74 years.' The mourners were: Mr. S Crimes (husband), Mr. J. Crimes (son), Mr. and Mrs. Isherwood (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. and Mrs. J. Hollinshead (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. and Mrs. Gough (son-in-law and daughter), Mrs. Lawton, Mr. Dean, and the Rev. H.E. Stevens." |
