The Births Index (GRO) record gives mother's maiden surname as CUNNINGHAM which is unexpected. Is Lizzie Ann in fact a child of William CHRIMES and another mother, before he married Martha JACKSON? Lizzie Ann was named Elizabeth beyond infancy. In the 1891 UK Census Elizabeth has the middle initial A and still gives birthplace of Winsford. The 1903 Q1 Stockport Deaths Index record is consistent with Elizabeth's mother's declaration of the children who had died before the 1911 UK Census, and with the appearance of Samuel BETHEL on the 1911 UK Census as widower. Confusingly, a Probate record for Elizabeth Bethell gives residence as Stockport, but date of death as 22 November 1903 and husband as John BETHELL, so cannot apply to this Elizabeth. |
