Joseph attended Boteler Grammar School, Warrington which he left in April 1885. His previous school was recorded as "People's College". Joseph moved to Ireland where he married Catherine Jane in 1894. They had 5 children in Ireland. Another researcher "safc" has contributed to the GenesReunited website a transcription of the 1911 census return of Joseph and his family in Shankill, Antrim. This is extremely valuable to this research as it identifies 5 children named CHRIMES born in Ireland, not previously known. Joseph died in Belfast, but he was buried in Warrington, Lancashire, England. His burial record gives his residence as Belfast, Ireland. Alternative place of burial (LOPC): St. Elphin, Warrington. Joseph's Grant of Administration reads: "Administration of the Estate of the late Joseph Chrimes, 63A Disraeli Street, Belfast, Engineer, who died 8 December 1913, granted at Belfast 2 April 1919 to Catherine Chrimes, the widow. Effects: £336 11s". See www.billiongraves.com for an image of the gravestone. |
