From The Alfreton Journal of 10 August 1900: "Good General Wanted for family of four, must do washing, state age, wages. Apply Mrs Chrimes, 12, Holland Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester."
In the 1911 census, Sarah Ann Pierce, a widow, was living in Chorlton-cum-Hardy with her daughters Ada and Mary.
From The Runcorn Examiner of 9 November 1918: "Deaths - CHRIMES - On November 2nd, at 12, Holland-road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, in her 77th year, Sarah Ann Pierce, widow of Joseph Chrimes, of Warrington. Interment took place at Warrington Cemetery on Monday, November 4th."
Sarah Ann Pierce's Grant of Probate record reads: "CHRIMES Sarah Anne Pierce of 12 Holland Road Chorlton-cum-Hardy Manchester widow died 2 November 1918 Probate Manchester 10 December to Frank Brettelle chemist Anne Mellor (wife of Charles Mellor) and Harriette Whittaker (wife of Richard Harry Whittaker) Effects £285 19s 11d".

Sarah Ann Pierce outlived her husband by 37 years.
