I cannot find George on the 1891 UK Census. The 1910 marriage to Margaret ASHCROFT (and consequent descendants) at St. Helens has two possible grooms: * George CRIMES b.1865 Great Boughton, who had married Sarah SWINDLEY in 1902 at Chester. * George CRIMES b.1876 Tarvin, not previously thought to have married. Careful consideration of the 1921 England Census and reconsideration of other data suggests that, although both Georges gave inaccurate ages on records, the 1910 marriage fits best with George CRIMES b.1876. In 1921 George was employed by W H Tavener, General Provisions Merchant of Ashfield, Bromborough. |
