Annie was given the name CRIMES at birth.
Annie was an artist. One of her works is held by Warrington Museum & Art Gallery and appears on the ArtUK website. It depicts John Smith (d.1905), Bellman of Warrington (1887–1905) and is attributed to "Annie Chrimes (1863–1942)".
The 1891 occupation is correctly transcribed, but I take it to mean Artist and Art Teacher.
From The Preston Herald of 4 August 1894: "MARRIAGES - MELLOR-CHRIMES - August 1, at the Cathedral, by the Rev. H.A. Hudson, Charles, son of the late Charles Mellor, of Oldham, to Annie, eldest daughter of the late Joseph Chrimes, of Warrington."
Annie's Grant of Administration reads: "MELLOR Annie of 6a Tynewydd Road East Parade Rhyl Flintshire widow died 21 March 1942 Administration Manchester 15 June to The Public Trustee. Effects: £746 4s. 4d."
