Agnes Ellen's birth index record is in the name Agnes Helen CRIMES. From The Oswestry Advertiser of 16 January 1889: "SALOP BOARD OF EDUCATION The following names appear in the list of the successful candidates at the annual examination of pupil teachers and monitors for Shropshire on religious subjects ... CLASS II Agnes E. Chrimes, Whitchurch (girls), P.T., 1st year.." I cannot find Agnes Ellen on the 1891 UK Census. Agnes Ellen used the name CHRIMES in the 1901 UK Census and at her marriage. Why Agnes Ellen's marriage took place at Oldham is not clear. The marriage register shows that she was a resident of Prees. I cannot find Agnes Ellen on the 1939 Register. Death records for 1932 Ulverston or 1938 Gainsborough may apply. |
