Alice is connected to her parents by the Births Index (GRO) record which gives mother's maiden surname as LEAKE. An alternative baptism record - Non-conformist on 18 November 1888 at New Connexion Methodist Church, Oscroft cannot be explained. I cannot find Alice on the 1911 UK Census. CheshireBMD gives the location of the 1915 marriage as "Chester, Civil Marriage or Registrar Attended" From The Crewe Chronicle of 8 July 1939: "THE LATE MRS. A. STANYER The death occured on Sunday at 60, Claughton-avenue, Crewe, of Mrs. Stanyer, at the age of 49. The funeral took place at Tarvin Church on Wednesday. The service was conducted by the Rev. N.H. Ridgway. The mourners included .... Mr. and Mrs. A. Chrimes (brother and sister-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. W. Williams (brother-in-law and sister) .... Travers Chrimes..." |
