Jonathan's existence is known from a reference to him in his father's will of 1647. Philip Crimes has found that "...a Jonathan CHRIMES is recorded as carrying slate from Upholland to Weaverham in 1678 and he was a parish official for Acton in the 1670s as well as being recorded as a hearth tax payer in the 1660s." The 1700 Weaverham burial record refers to [Up]Holland so is assigned to this Jonathan on that basis only. This burial record could alternatively relate to Jonathan CRIMES bap.1680 Whitegate. |
