Ann was the victim of a vicious attack at Nashville, Tenessee in 1981, widely reported under the heading: "Woman, arms broken, runs for aid to foil rapist".
Ann's obituary reads: "Ann Myrick Crymes, age 84, of Meherrin, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2013. She is survived by four children, J▮▮▮▮▮▮▮ Craig and husband, W▮▮▮▮▮▮, J▮▮▮▮▮ Sober and husband, M▮▮▮, Robert Crymes, , and D▮▮▮▮▮▮ Crymes, III; fourteen grandchildren, Durelle Edison, Christine, Kevin, Sheri, Heather, David, Dean, Katy, Jenna, Terri, Ben, Brittany, Matthew, and Sara; eight great-grandchildren, Dakota, Coytee, Hayden, Jeremy, Zachary, Wyatt, Olivia; and Emory; a brother, G▮▮▮▮▮ E. Martin; a sister, H▮▮▮▮ Myrick; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Durelle E. Crymes, Jr.; and her first husband, James H. Myrick. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2013, in the Ledbetter Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, Virginia, on Thursday, August 8, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements."
