From the Find-a-Grave record: "MUSCLE SHOALS - Almon Whitehead, 97, died Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Visitation will be today, November 9, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Brother Mike Brooks will be officiating. He was a member of Highland Park Church of Christ. He was in World War II. He was also in the State Trooper Reserve. He was member of IBEW Local 558. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wheeler Von Whitehead and Madgie; wife, Ellen Marie Whitehead; granddaughter, Kelley Whitehead; and sister, Dimple Romine. He is survived by his son, B▮▮▮▮ Whitehead (Norma) of Muscle Shoals; special friend, J▮▮▮▮ Whitehead of Killen; brother, B▮▮▮▮ Whitehead (June) of Athens; grandson, Brad Whitehead (Alicia) of Muscle Shoals; great-grandsons, Nathan and Trace Whitehead, and Cody Sills. Pallbearers will be Glenn Grubs, Joel Whitehead, Ronald Nesbitt, Ernie Bechard, Terry McMinn and James Mcaffry. Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Waycaster, Jimmy Nix, David Goins, Bobby Denton, Mike Franks, Lloyd Jackson and Wallace Hannah. Special thanks to the staff and nurses to Florence Rehab and Nursing Home and also to Alacare."
