From The Age Melbourne of 23 August 1940: "These Juniors Want Pen Friends ... B▮▮▮▮ CHRIMES, Coghill-street, Yarrawonga is 15 years old and wants boy or girl pen friends between 14 and 17 years of age, interested in anything." From Border Morning Mail Albury, NSW of 10 October 1942: "ENGAGEMENTS E▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮ M▮▮▮▮ (B▮▮▮▮), eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. Chrimes, Yarrawonga, to C▮▮▮▮▮▮▮ J▮▮▮ (AIF), only son of Mr and Mrs J.R. Arthur, Yarrawonga." This is very useful in connecting E▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮ M▮▮▮▮'s formal and informal names, but this engagement did not apparently result in marriage. B▮▮▮▮ and M▮▮▮ are named as such on their parents' gravestone inscription. |
