Like his brother John, George was a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.
From Crymes of London, Devon and Surrey by Philip A Crimes: [in Jamaica] "George evidently fell ill, most probably suffering from a tropical disease such as malaria, for he was discharged from the Leviathan to the hospital Mole St Nicholas on 18 July, where he died the following day. The master's logs for Tuesday 19 July 1796 state "Departed this life on shore Mr Geo. Crymes 1st Lt."
