In 1871 Thomas was aged 18 (b.1853) a boarder, single, in Warrington, declared as born in Brierley Hill and was using the name CHRIMES for the first time.
The excellent marriage record on LOPC is in the name GRIMES but is annotated: 'The man states that Grimes should be Chrimes and the certificate has been altered to this effect'
