In 1871 Sarah Jane was the "Jane Bebbington" servant with Samuel and Mary Chrimes in Norley, correctly giving her birth place as Gorstage, and her age as 15 (actually 16). Mary was to die in 1872 and Sarah Jane married Samuel the year after. In 1921 Sarah Jane (widowed) was living with her married daughter Frances Maria and her husband John JAY. I do not know where "Ivanhoe" is in Norley. Do not confuse with "Ivanhoe", Norley Road, Cuddington where Sarah Jane's grandson Alan Bostock CHRIMES lived, though the naming may not be a coincidence. From The Cheshire Observer of 9 September 1933: "FUNERAL OF MRS. S.J. CHRIMES - The death, after a long illness, of Mrs. Sarah Jane Chrimes, Norley Bank-road, occurred on Sunday. Mrs. Chrimes, a native of Davenham, was the widow of Mr. Samuel Chrimes, formerly of Cow-lane, who pre-deceased her 20 years ago. She was 78 years of age, and leaves four sons and two daughters. The interment took place on Wednesday. The Rev. H.R. Barry, of Northwich, said prayers at the house, and afterwards conducted a service at Bethel Methodist Church. Later the remains were conveyed to the Parish Church, where the Vicar (the Rev. H.J.E. Williams) officiated. He also took the service at the graveside. The hymn, "Jesu, Lover of my Soul," was sung in church, Mrs. Williams presiding at the organ. The mourners included: Mrs. H. Parker and Mrs. F. Jay (daughters), Mr. Wm. Chrimes, Mr. Harry Chrimes, Mr. Ernest Chrimes, and Mr. Albert Chrimes (sons), Mr. H. Parker (son-in-law), Mrs. W. Chrimes, Mrs. H Chrimes, Mrs. A Chrimes (daughters-in-law), Mrs. P. The Grant of Probate record states: "Chrimes Sarah Jane of Ivanhoe Norley Cheshire widow died 3 September 1933 Probate 3 October to Albert Chrimes grocer and Ernest Chrimes joiner.
