William (Henry) appears on the 1911 census, but as a "Visitor" which does not help in identifying his parents. However the 1921 England Census firmly connects him to his parents. In 1921 William Henry was in 'No Normal Employment at Present' but had previously been employed by J. Lanes Glassworks of Park Rd., Dudley. William Henry's first marriage record to Clara Turner is chosen on the basis of age and location. The birth records of the children of this marriage give the mother's maiden surname as TURNER, as expected. A 1961 marriage record is assigned to William Henry as a second marriage because the spouse Dora's death record shows that she was born in 1899, opening the possibility for a late marriage. |
