The 1945 marriage record is in the name Reginald C CRIMES but is nevertheless confirmed by the following. From The Chester Chronicle of 31 March 1945: "CITY COUNCILLOR'S SON MARRIED. BRIDE ULSTER MEMBER OF W.A.A.F. The wedding took place at Christ Church, Chester, on Monday, of W.O. Reginald Crimes, R.A.F., only son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Crimes, of 3, Delamere-street, Chester, and A.C.W. Jean King, W.A.A.F., eldest daughter of Capt. and Mrs. E.T. King, of 455, Upper Newtownards-road, Belfast.... After the reception at the Queens Hotel, Chester, the bride and bridegroom left for Buxton... The bridegroom, who is serving with Bomber Command was mentioned in despatches in January 1943." Following the death of his first wife Joan Gladys in 1980, Reginald Arncliffe remarried in 1981 to Dorothy JONES. |
