From The Chester Observer of 5 May 1951: "MRS. A. CRIMES The funeral of Mrs. Alice Crimes, aged 85, of 145, Westminster-road, Hoole, who died on 24th April, took place at All Saints' Church, Hoole, last Friday, Rev. R.A. P. Gell officiating. The chief mourners were Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Crimes (son and daughter-in-law), Miss Crimes, Mrs. R. Lewis (daughters), Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Bithell (grand-children), ..." Another report of the funeral, in The Chester Chronicle of 5 May 1951, refers to 'Mrs. Joseph Crimes' and does not give her forename. The report gives details of Joseph's life and CRIMES family, but hardly anything about Alice! |
