Harold appears on the 1901 census in the Robert Arthur CHRIMES household, declared as aged 10, born Kelsall, Cheshire, "Adopted Son". His birth record gives his name as William Harold, so I have used this. William Harold moved with the Robert Arthur CHRIMES family to Derbyshire, but in the 1911 census he was declared as "Servant". In searching the 1921 England Census for William Harold, the only reference I can find is an entry for an Institution in Hoole, Chester, presumed to be the Chester Union Workhouse. Inmates were not allowed the dignity of having their full names recorded on the census so all we have is: 'WHR','Inmate',M[ale],Single,[age]33,Gen. Labourer. This may relate to William Harold RIXON, but more information is needed. I cannot find a death record for William Harold. |
