In 1841 Joseph, age 2 , was living with the head of household John CRIMES age 50, farmer. This was indeed Joseph's father. From The Runcorn Guardian of 19 February 1910: "THE LATE MR. JOSEPH CRIMES, OLLERTON. NONCONFORMISTS ATTEND MARTHALL CHURCH. VICAR PREACHES ON SANCTITY AND SECT. Many Wesleyans attended Marthall Church on Sunday, being the Sunday immediately following the burial of the late Mr. Joseph Crimes, a pillar of Ollerton Wesleyanism. The Rev. Walter Greswell, vicar, was the preacher, and in addition to welcoming the Nonconformists he preached a sympathetic discourse. ..." Joseph's Grant of Administration reads: "CRIMES Joseph the elder of Ollerton Cheshire farmer died 27 January 1910. Administration Chester 31 March to Joseph Crimes and Thomas Edward Crimes farmers. Effects £2117 10s 1d" |
