Samuel married twice. Firstly to Louisa BLAKEMORE at Dudley in 1868. I cannot find Samuel in the 1881 England Census. Louisa died 1891 Q3 Walsall. From The Liverpool Mercury of 28 January 1891: "THE BANKRUPTCY ACT 1883 - FIRST MEETINGS AND DATES OF PUBLIC EXAMINATIONS Samuel Crimes, Walsall, chain manufacturer. Another report gives address as Green Lane, Walsall, confirming the connection to this particular Samuel. Samuel married Alice LOWE at Walsall in 1894. From The Walsall Advertiser of 18 May 1895: THEFT OF SPRING HOOKS Samuel Crimes (44), buckle maker, Checketts Street, was charged with having stolen from the warehouses of Messrs. S. Venables and Son, spring hook makers, Shaw Street, two dozen spring hooks valued at 6s. on Monday.... The Magistrates remanded prisoner for a week."
