Michael John HUTCHINSON, the great great grandson of John, holds John's Marriage Certificate, showing that John's father was a Benjamin CRIMES.
The 1851 census clearly states John's place of birth as Northwich, Cheshire. Although I can find several baptism records for John CHRIMES on FamilySearch.org there is no ceremony at or near Northwich.
On the 1841 census John, declared as Jno CRIMES, was a furnaceman living in Wednesbury, West Midlands.
John's Death Index record is in the name GRIMES which is not unexpected for this family. |
