In the 1861 UK Census Dinah was declared as "widow" suggesting that her husband John CHRIMES died 1851-1861. In 1870 Dinah Chrimes remarried, to William MORRIS, the www.FamilySearch.org record giving her father's name as Thomas TURNER. In the 1871 UK Census Dinah was declared as "Married", but had kept her previous married surname of Chrimes and her new husband was not living with her. In the 1881 UK Census Dinah was declared as Dianna Morris which was at least the correct surname In the 1891 UK Census Dinah was declared as "Widow" again, still using the name Chrimes. Also on the 1891 UK Census, Thomas declared as "son" was in fact grandson. The 1899 death record is in the name Dinah Morris, with an implied birth year of 1826. Despite this being wrong, the name Dinah is sufficiently unusual to make this the correct record. |
