From The Warrington Examiner of 29 October 1887: "MARRIAGE OF MISS CHRIMES - On Tuesday, at noon, the marriage of Miss Sarah Jane Chrimes with Mr. Robert Chapman was solemnised at the Warrington Parish Church in the presence of a large number of friends. The Rev. J.A. Drummond was the officiating clergyman. After the ceremony a peal of bells was rung in honour of the event. Miss Chrimes, it may be mentioned, is the eldest daughter of the late Alderman Joseph Chrimes who was the Major of Warrington in 1855-6-7." In the 1901 UK Census Sarah Jane was widow, living in Brook Street, Chester, occupation publican Sarah Jane was known as Jennie. Sarah Jane's Grant of Probate reads: "CHAPMAN Sarah Jane of 49 Halkyn Road, Newton-by-Chester widow died 8 January 1911. Probate Chester 7 February to Edith Chrimes (wife of Frank Chrimes) and Thomas Edward Isaac manager. Effects £5060 13s 8d." |
