From The Widnes Examiner of 27 January 1894: "ALLEGED THEFT OF A MACKINTOSH AND A HORSE RUG Bartholomew Welsh was charged with stealing from a funeral coach in Heath-lane, at 4.15 on the afternoon of November 29th, a man's black mackintosh and a horse rug, valued 20s, the property of Wm. Chrimes.... Wm. Chrimes had been employed for some months as a 'bus driver for Mr. E. Connor. On Nov. 29th., he was ill and his father, Thomas Chrimes, did his work for him. On that date, the elder Chrimes was in charge of a funeral, ..."
William Rowlinson married Harriet May COURTNELL in 1899.
In 1921 William Rowlinson was 'Manager - Beer House' employed by 'Ansells Brewery Ltd. of Park Road, Aston' but working 'At Home' so I presume that his beer retail shop was also his home.
Harriet May died in 1924.
William Rowlinson married Annie Maria TONRY 1927 Birmingham.
From The Birmingham Mail of 29 July 1940: "DEATHS - CHRIMES - On July 27, William R., beloved husband of Annie Chrimes, of the Golden Cup, Tipton, passed peacefully away. Funeral Brandwood End, August 1 at 3 o'clock."
From The Birmingham Mail of 14 August 1940: "WILLIAM ROWLINSON CHRIMES, DECEASED. Any Person having any CLAIM against the Estate of the above-named deceased, late of Golden Cup Hotel, Toll End Road, Tipton, Birmingham, is requested to send particulars to me, the undersigned Solicitor for the Executrix.."
