In the 1851 census Sarah was aged 9, living with her parents William and Ann in Kingsley. In the 1861 census Sarah, though married, was resident, aged 20, with her parents William and Ann at their home in Kingsley. These ages suggest that she was born 1841/42, so a matching birth record has been chosen. There were two George CHRIMES who married a Sarah about 1860, but only one marriage record which, as it is for Runcorn could apply to both Kingsley or Barnton/Great Budworth, the birthplaces of the 2 Sarah's. The critical record is Sarah's 1861 Census record which links her to Kingsley and the name HOLLAND, so the 1860 marriage record is assigned to her. Sarah's Grant of Administration reads: "Chrimes Sarah 11 November Administration of the personal estate of Sarah Chrimes (Wife of George Chrimes) late of West Bank Street Widnes in the County of Lancaster who died 12 October 1886 at West Bank Street was granted at Liverpool to the said George Chrimes of West Bank Street House Agent." Sarah appears on the Index of Death Duty Registers in 1886. |
