I cannot find a birth record for George. In 1861 George was living with his parents Samuel and Maria in Norley, but declared as Married. In 1871 George was living in Widnes with his wife Sarah and their sons including William aged 2 who does not appear again. In 1881 George was living in Widnes with his wife Sarah and their 3 sons. From The Runcorn Examiner of 8 January 1881: "HOUSE AND SHOP - TO BE LET, good HOUSE and SHOP with bakehouse; doing good business; four bedrooms; situate in Beaumont-street, Widnes; rent, 8s. weekly. - Apply to GEORGE CHRIMES, 22, Church-street, Widnes." In 1891 George was living in Widnes as a Widower, with his 3 sons. George's Probate Record reads: "Chrimes George of 24 Viaduct Street Widnes Lancashire builder died 26 August 1898 Probate Liverpool 8 November to Joseph Chrimes farmer and Charles Chrimes commercial clerk" George appears in the Index to Death Duty Registers. |
