An 1849 Petition for Bankruptcy at Salford (giving occupation as Journeyman Joiner and residences as 22 Sandford-street, Salford and previously 28 Ruby-street, Hulme) may apply to this Joseph, but alternatively may apply to Joseph CRIMES b.1804.
In 1851 Joseph was living in Urmston, Manchester, with his third wife Mary and children of his second and third marriages.
From The Chester Chronicle and North Wales General Advertiser of 20 September 1856: "On Thursday last, the 15th annual meeting of the Daresbury and Frodsham Farmers' Club was held at Runcorn. ... Considerable attention was given to a one-horse improved Scotch cart, made and shewn by Mr. Joseph Crimes, of Halton. The cart is so constructed that by taking off a upper frame, a dung cart is instantly provided, and for harvest work the frame can be readjusted so as to carry as great a load as an ordinary waggon. The wood work is all English oak, and the wheels are bound by James's patent rolled tires, ..."
Joseph appears on the Index to Death duty Registers for 1885 as 'Crimes, Joseph of Runcorn, Cheshire. Executor Thos. Cook'
