Joseph and Elizabeth (Betty) form an important datum in the research of the 'Norley' branch.
Elizabeth outlived Joseph by 29 years, and she appears on the 1836-51 Cheshire Tithe Maps as Elizabeth CRIMES (sic), owner of a farm and several fields at Cow Lane in Norley.
This is consistent with her entry on the 1851 census as "farmer - 9 acres".
John Sibbald has against her death: "7 Sep 1854 Diarrhea 6 days certified"
