In his father John's will, Joseph is described as "my Eldest son Joseph". The marriage record (LDS Church) is crucial, as it is one of the few online sources for Joseph. Joseph may have been the first CHRIMES to settle in Norley. Joseph's will and writing upon it make it clear that: Joseph signed his will on 10 June 1825. Joseph died on 30 June 1825. Joseph's executors were granted probate on 14 December 1825. Joseph's will included inheritances for his wife Elizabeth and for his four children John (oldest son), Mary, Joseph and Samuel. The executors of Joseph's will were his wife Elizabeth and his brother Thomas. In 1825 when Joseph wrote his will he was described as "of Norley" but he owned land in both Crowton and Norley. Joseph appears in the Index to Death Duty Registers. Joseph's will is accessible online at FamilySearch.org. |
