From The Cheshire Observer of 23 January 1858: "Oakmere Petty Sessions: Joseph Chrimes of Norley, Saddler and Grocer, was fined 50s. and costs for having unjust weights in his possession." The Probate Record reads: "Chrimes Joseph of Norley near Frodsham died 16 September 1892 Probate Chester 22 October to John Chrimes saddler and Joseph Chrimes farmer." Probate was granted to Joseph's two sons, his wife having predeceased him. Joseph appears on the Index to Death Duty Registers dated 1892. |
